David R. Snyder

Associate Vice President, Auxiliary and Business Services

As associate vice president for Auxiliary and Business Services (ABS), David Snyder provides strategic leadership and guidance for ABS, overseeing operations and resources for Housing and Food Services, the Bryce Jordan Center, Transportation Services, Multimedia and Print Center, id+ Card, State College Regional Airport and seven other units. In addition, Snyder serves as the primary liaison for the Penn State Bookstore contract and the University's pouring rights contract. Snyder's position will evolve over time as several of his current ABS areas of responsibility will be included in the OST evaluation process. 

Previously, Snyder was appointed assistant vice president for ABS in January 2021 after serving for eight years as director of business and finance for the Bryce Jordan Center and Hospitality Services. He has been with ABS for over 25 years, serving in positions in housing services, accounting and finance.    

During his tenure with Penn State, Snyder led the implementation of Prophix financial reporting for ABS and its integration with Simba, contributed to the development of the University's Percentage Model, assisted with the negotiation on the renewal of the Wage Percentage Model, developed budgeting and forecasting processes used by all ABS units, served as a member of the University's Budget Approach Working Group, and is the executive sponsor for the Finance and Business Strategic Plan Enhancing Organizational Excellence goal. 

Snyder is a lifelong learner with several degrees from Penn State: a bachelor's degree in administration of justice, a bachelor's degree in economics, a master's degree in business, a master's degree in strategic management and executive leadership, a graduate certificate in applied statistics and a graduate certificate in institutional research. In December 2023, he will complete his third master's degree in corporate innovation and entrepreneurship.
