
Dr. David R. Snyder
Dr. David Snyder serves as the Associate Vice President for Auxiliary and Business Services at The Pennsylvania State University. In this role, he provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for a diverse portfolio of business and service units, including Housing and Food Services, the Bryce Jordan Center, Transportation Services, the Multimedia and Print Center, the State College Regional Airport, Lion Surplus, Parking and Transportation Services, General Stores, and Catering. He also serves as the primary liaison for the Penn State Bookstore contract and the University’s pouring rights agreement.
Dr. Snyder is responsible for the financial and operational management of Auxiliary and Business Services, ensuring alignment with University priorities and long-term strategic goals. He oversees key functions such as budgeting, forecasting, capital planning, contract negotiations, and financial reporting while identifying opportunities to enhance operational efficiencies, drive revenue growth, and optimize resource allocation. With more than 28 years of experience at Penn State, he has held leadership roles across housing services, accounting, finance, and business operations. Appointed Assistant Vice President for Auxiliary and Business Services in January 2021 after serving for eight years as Director of Business and Finance for the Bryce Jordan Center and Hospitality Services, he has led several high-impact initiatives, including the implementation of Prophix financial reporting and its integration with SIMBA, the development of University financial models, and the establishment of standardized budgeting and forecasting processes for all Auxiliary and Business Services units.
Dr. Snyder holds multiple degrees from Penn State, including a bachelor’s degree in administration of justice, a bachelor’s degree in economics, a master’s degree in business, a master’s degree in strategic management and executive leadership, and a master’s degree in corporate innovation. He also holds graduate certificates in applied statistics and institutional research.
